A New Beginning

Within the borders of life I wait,
Wanting to be able to choose my fate.
I feel like I am walking blindly,
Wondering when it will stop, finally.

Living without the love that I need,
I wish that I could take the lead.
I want to stand on my own,
Without the feeling of being alone.

As I keep moving along this wretched path,
I know soon I will no longer suffer her wrath.
The pain will slowly leave my mind,
I will place it far behind.

When I am finally through,
I will look back at what I knew.
I will keep these memories close to my heart;
For the lessons learned will never part.
